Privacy Policy
Short version: we don't save the files you process. Every tool on FreeToolSpot runs entirely in your web browser — nothing is uploaded to our servers, because there are no servers to upload to. We use Google Analytics 4 to count page visits in aggregate. That's it.
1. What we collect
Files and text you process
We collect nothing. When you drop a PDF, an image, or a block of text into a tool on this site, the processing happens inside your own browser using client-side JavaScript. Your file never leaves your device. We do not upload, receive, log, store, cache, index, or transmit it to any server under our control or any third party's.
You can verify this yourself: open your browser's developer tools (the Network tab), use any tool on the site, and you'll see no request carrying your content to a remote server.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand which tools people find useful and how they arrive at the site. GA4 collects:
- The pages you visit on FreeToolSpot and the time spent on each.
- Your approximate location (country/region) derived from your IP address. We have IP anonymization enabled, so the full IP is not retained by Google.
- Referring URL (the site that linked you here), browser, device type, and operating system.
- A randomly generated identifier stored in a first-party cookie that lets GA4 distinguish a returning visitor from a new one. This identifier is not tied to you personally.
GA4 does not see the content of the files you process, the text you paste, the passwords you generate, or anything you type into a tool. Those never leave the browser tab.
Server logs
FreeToolSpot is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare keeps short-term request logs (typically a few hours to a few days) covering things like IP address, request path, user agent, and response status. These are standard operational logs used to keep the site online and protect it from abuse. We do not use them for analytics or profiling.
Advertising
The site is free and supported by ads. If an ad network (such as Google AdSense) is enabled, it may set cookies in your browser and receive information about your visit in order to serve relevant ads and measure their performance. Those cookies are governed by the ad network's own privacy policy; ours is limited to how FreeToolSpot itself handles your data.
Ads never receive the content of the files or text you process — that stays on your device regardless of what other scripts the page loads.
2. What we don't collect
- No account data. There are no accounts on the free site, so there is no email, password, or profile to collect.
- No file contents. Your files, images, PDFs, JSON, code, or any other input never reach our servers.
- No cross-site tracking from us directly. We don't embed third-party fingerprinting, session-replay, or advertising pixels beyond what an enabled ad network loads.
3. How to opt out of analytics
If you'd rather not be counted in GA4:
- Install Google's Analytics Opt-out browser add-on .
- Use your browser's built-in tracker blocking (Firefox, Safari, Brave, and Edge all ship this on by default to varying degrees).
- Use an ad or tracker blocker. The tools on FreeToolSpot still work with one enabled.
4. Cookies
FreeToolSpot itself does not set any first-party cookies. The only cookies that may appear while you use the site are:
-
_gaand_ga_*from Google Analytics (if analytics is enabled), used to distinguish visitors as described above. - Cookies set by any active ad network, as described in their own privacy policy.
5. Your rights
Because we don't store personal data ourselves — no accounts, no file archive, no customer database — there is nothing for us to look up, export, or delete on request. The parts of your activity that are stored (GA4 aggregates, ad-network cookies) are governed by Google's privacy policy, and you can manage or delete them through Google's account tools or your browser's cookie settings.
If you have a specific concern — a GDPR/CCPA request, a question about what a third-party script is doing, or anything else — email [email protected] and we'll respond.
6. Children
FreeToolSpot is a general-purpose utility site and not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
7. Changes to this policy
If we change how the site handles data — adding a server-side feature, switching analytics provider, or anything else material — we'll update this page and change the "Last updated" date above. The current version is always at https://freetoolspot.com/privacy.
