Terms of Use
FreeToolSpot is a free website that runs utility tools in your web browser. By using it you agree to these terms. They are written to be readable — if anything is unclear, email [email protected] and we'll explain.
1. What FreeToolSpot is
FreeToolSpot is a collection of single-purpose utilities (JSON formatting, PDF merging, image resizing, OCR, hashing, and so on) that run entirely in your browser. There is no server-side processing and no account system. The site is free to use, supported by unobtrusive advertising. Nothing here is a paid service and there is no contract between us for delivery of a specific result.
2. License to use the site
You may use the tools on FreeToolSpot for any lawful personal or commercial purpose. The output of a tool — a merged PDF, a resized image, an extracted string — is yours; we claim no rights over it.
The site's own code (everything not counting the third-party open-source libraries listed on /credits) is proprietary. You may not copy, mirror, scrape, or redistribute the site or its source code without permission.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the site to process content you don't have the legal right to process — copyrighted material you don't own a license to, personal data you're not authorized to handle, and so on.
- Attempt to bypass the site's technical limits, overload the infrastructure, or use the site as part of a denial-of-service attack against someone else.
- Reverse-engineer, scrape at scale, or redistribute the site or its functionality as your own.
- Use the site to process material that is illegal in your jurisdiction (for example, content that constitutes child sexual abuse material under your country's laws).
Because tools run entirely in your browser, we have no practical way to detect or block what you process. We rely on you to use the site responsibly.
4. No warranty
The site and every tool on it are provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied. That includes warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Specifically: we don't guarantee that the output of any tool is accurate, complete, or fit for your use case. OCR mis-reads characters, compression is lossy, PDF parsers disagree about malformed files, and hash collisions exist. If you need a guaranteed outcome — legal, medical, financial, forensic — verify the result against a tool you're willing to stake that guarantee on. Don't stake it on a free website.
5. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, FreeToolSpot and its operator are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from your use of the site — including but not limited to lost data, lost profits, or reliance on the output of a tool. Your sole remedy if a tool doesn't work the way you wanted is to stop using it.
6. Your data
How we handle (or, more accurately, don't handle) your data is covered in the Privacy Policy. The short version: files you process don't leave your browser. Analytics are aggregate and documented in the Privacy Policy.
7. Third-party content
The site may link to external websites (documentation, source repos, related tools). We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for their content, availability, or privacy practices.
The third-party open-source libraries we bundle are listed on the Credits page with their licenses. Your use of the tools is also subject to those licenses where they apply.
8. Advertising
FreeToolSpot shows ads to cover its running costs. We don't endorse the products or services advertised, and a click-through to an ad puts you into a relationship with that advertiser, governed by their terms and privacy policy — not ours.
9. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. If we do, we'll change the "Last updated" date above and post the new version at this URL. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the operator's country of residence. If a dispute arises that can't be resolved informally, it will be handled by the courts with jurisdiction over that location.
